Jane read law in Northumbria University, UK in year 2016. After obtaining her Bachelor of Law from Northumbria University in year 2017, she continued to pursue her Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at Northumbria University in the same year. She was called to the Bar in England and Wales as a Member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple Inn on 22nd November 2018. Jane then decided to come back to Malaysia and begin her legal practice at CHIONG & PARTNERS.
Jane started her pupillage at our firm under the chamber of Dato’ Lawrence Chiong, the Managing Partner of the firm. During her pupillage, she was highly exposed to a wide range of law, which includes general litigation, family matters, drafting corporate agreements and conveyancing.
Jane was later admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2020 and continued her career as Legal Associate at our firm in the same year.
Jane is one of the legal advisors of DLC Team where she has conducted several legal clinics with different topic area of law, such as Family Matter (Divorce, Last Will & Estate Planning), Conveyancing (Transfer of Property) etc. in order to provide free legal advice to those who are unable to afford legal services. Jane is also Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp)’s Certified Trainer.
Jane was one of the youngest lawyers to become Partner of the firm and to lead the Corporate Department and Selangor Office in 2022, where she specializes in corporate commercial and advisory and drafting all sort of agreement including but not limited to distributorship agreement, dealership agreement, website terms of use, invoicing and payment terms, licensing agreement, founders agreement, shareholders’ agreements, partnerships agreement, shares sales agreement, sale of business agreement and preference shares subscription agreement etc.
Jane strongly believes that success will come to those who are willing to work hard and never give up.
